Full description
Start with pickup from your hotel in Tbilisi. Travel to the first stop of the tour, the Holy Trinity Cathedral, which is one of the largest Orthodox cathedrals in the world. Next, visit Metekhi Church and the monument of Vakhtang Gorgasali, the legendary founder of Tbilisi. Take a cable car to Narikala Fortress to enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of the city. Walk down to the district of Sulphur bath houses passing by Tbilisi’s mosque. Stroll through the Sharden area with its winding streets, cozy cafés, wine tasting bars, and souvenir shops. Visit Sioni Cathedral, Anchiskhati Basilica, and the clock tower of Rezo Gabriadze Theatre. Enjoy a some time for lunch, at your own expense, before beginning the journey to Mtskheta. Upon arrival, explore the cultural and religious center of Georgia. Discover the capital of the Eastern Georgian Kingdom of Iberia, which has a history dating back to the 3rd century BC. Visit Jvari Church, an architectural masterpiece of the early Medieval period built on a hilltop overlooking the town. Enjoy the views of the confluence of Mtkvari and Aragvi Rivers.
