Be picked up from your accommodation and sit back and enjoy the views as you descend into the beautiful Huon Valley on a winding road. Stop at Tahune Adventures, where can walk among the treetops on the Airwalk, a steel canopy that hangs 50 meters above ground.

Cross the river on a swinging bridge before following the Huon Pine Trail. Breathe the fresh forest air and stop to touch one of Australia’s oldest living trees. Find out how fire has affected the forest and see firsthand the natural regeneration that occurs in a forest environment.

Choose to purchase a Cable Eagle Hang Glider ride that will whisk you 250 meters across the the Huon River at speeds of up to 40 km per hour. Have the chance to buy lunch a the café which serves local produce along with Tassie wine and cider.

Continue on a drive through the deep south on the way to the Hastings Caves. Journey underground with a guide to see the largest dolomite cave open to visitors in Australia. Admire spacious caverns, stalactites, columns, shawls, and stalagmites.

Head to a nearby swimming pool which is fed by thermal springs which has year-round 28 degrees Celsius water. After a relaxing soak, make your way to Willie Smith’s Apple Shed.

Enjoy the atmosphere of this rustic barn house, cidery, and restaurant where you can purchase a tasting paddle or hear about the Huon Valley’s history of apple growing. Return to your accommodation in Battery Point.
