Get back to nature on a hike through the breathtaking landscapes of Yangmingshan National Park. Meet your tour guide at the train station and enjoy a 40-minute train ride to Xiaoyoukeng, the starting point of your hike and the most popular spot in the national park. Here, get up close to the volcanic fumaroles and experience the sensation of walking on a dormant volcano. Begin your hike along the Xiaoyoukeng Hiking Trail towards the main summit of Qixing Mountain, the highest point in Taipei. Follow a rocky path lined with long grass and sulfur crystals where you can still see and smell the volcanic steam. Upon arrival at the main summit, marvel at the fantastic view that opens up before you then continue towards the east summit. Here, enjoy a rest and regain your strength while appreciating the beauty of nature. After a short break, walk down to Menghuan Lake (literally "dreamy lake") before continuing to Qingtiangang, a lava terrace where you will find a herd of wild water buffaloes. Finally, visit Lengshuikeng, a hot spring lake formed by the volcanic lava flowing down from the mountain. Make your way back to Taipei Main Station in the late afternoon.
