Highlights
  • See the exhilarating sight of whales breaching the water
  • Learn interesting facts about whales and their habitat
  • Enjoy either a hot breakfast or BBQ lunch, depending on which option you choose, as you cruise down the harbour on your way to see the whales
Full description
Make your way to Circular Quay to board your whale-watching vessel. Numbers are restricted on this whale-watching cruise, allowing for ample elbow room in the cabin and on the outside decks of your boat. You have the choice of two options on this cruise which will allow you to enjoy the whales with ultimate comfort and a delicious meal! Every day the cruise with lunch is available and on the weekends whales with brekky is an option! Seeing these giant mammals of the sea has the ability to change your whole view on life. The gracefulness, the peacefulness, the playfulness, the curiosity, the showmanship and the awesome power of a humpback whale is something everyone should witness in their lifetime. Whale watching is an exhilarating adventure - seeing these incredible creatures frolicking and swimming in the ocean is an awe-inspiring treat that you will remember forever! Breaching, tail slaps, spy hopping, fluke dives and peduncle throws are all some of the great moves you may see from the whales on their migrations. The whale population is increasing each year and and this year there are 30,000+ whales expected to migrate past Sydney. Whale watching season runs from May to November. From May to August, the whales are on their Northern migration to Tropical North Queensland and then from mid August to November, they're on their southern migration back to the Antarctic along with their new born calves - the little calves are just gorgeous!

It was a wonderful experience! We saw a family of whales, swimming near the boat. We saw dolphins jumping and playing. And we even got to see seals! Lunch was delicious and abundant. The only recommendation is that if you are not used to sailing, it is better to take some medication for seasickness.

We had a wonderful time! We saw a pod of dolphins and two humpback whales. A lot of other people on the boat got sea sick, but we had taken tablets before hand so we were ok. We definitely suggest that you take sea-sickness pills before embarking! It was particularly glorious to go out beyond Sydney harbour into the Tasman Sea

Saw lots of whales. Boarding was a bit of a mess. Woman giving passes gave the wrong ticket, crew allowed most to board the wrong boat, so then had to disembark. But when we got on the correct boat, it was great. Do take the medication recommended for motion sickness. About 20% of the passengers became ill and were miserable, but mainly because they refused to follow the excellent instructions of the crew. Would definitely recommend. The photo does overpromise what most will see- you will mainly see fins and tails, rather than whole fish breaking out of the water, but it was still great and worth a half day trip.
