Dubrovnik: Early Bird Walking Tour

1. Dubrovnik: Early Bird Walking Tour

The tour begins at the first light of the sun as you walk through a maze of narrow streets while the town is still sleeping. Departing from the main entrance gate next to Amerling Fountain, the first stop is for the magnificent view at Fort Lovrijenac where you’ll get an introduction to its rich history. The walk continues over the shiny main street Stradun that you can only see empty this early in the morning. Get a real feel for its beauty and hear about the many legends and curiosities to get a more picturesque presentation of the city’s history. Using side streets known mainly by the locals, the tour covers all the highlights of the city including St Blaise's Church and Dubrovnik Cathedral. Take the opportunity to experience the life of the citizens living in the Old Town before the tour finishes, just as the crowds start to emerge.

I would definitely recommend the early bird walking tour. The city is very peaceful and quiet during this time, allowing the group to walk freely and listen intently to the guide before the Old Town becomes busy later on in the day. I learnt a lot about Croatia and Dubrovnik’s history, whilst admiring the beautiful architecture within the city walls. It is a MUST do on anyone’s visit! Furthermore, our tour guide, Michaela, was very welcoming and inspiringly knowledgeable. She made our experience excellent!

Our early morning working tour was fabulous! Our tour guide was called Marcela who was welcoming, friendly and extremely knowledgeable. We learnt lots about Croatian History and the best places to visit in the Old Town - which was helpful as we were at the start of our holiday so we could plan ahead on the recommendations! Doing the tour in the morning was great as the temperate was cool and there was no crowds! 100% would recommend.

We took the early morning city walls tour hosted by Michaela, the tour was really interesting and Michaela was very knowledgeable and passionate about the subject which made it all the more enjoyable for us. We definately recommend this tour to other travellers as you get to see parts of the old town that as a tourist you may miss and the quieter city makes it a more enjoyable and intimate experience.

Lovely friendly tour guide very interesting information. And perfect time of day to do a tour, 8am the streets are quiet and it isn't too hot.

Great tour with Michaela. Lots of great information and always wonderful to hear it from a local.
