Stewart Island: Tours & Tickets
What people are saying about Stewart Island
We arrived early for our 0945 trip but were unable to get any information as to the weather conditions in the Strait. As one of us does not travel well we were prepared to cancel in the event of gale weather. Trip was rough bot boat handled the weather well. I believe the wind was about 35k. On arrival back in Bluff after a perfect trip, I was surprised to be charged $20 for our first nights parking and $10 for the second day. As the parking lot is absolutely insecure and away from any oversight we might as well have parked on the street. We noticed a lot of locals parking on the vacant lot opposite the terminal.
We received valuable assistance from your driver Gary at Bluff to find accommodation, bus connections and a short term car rental after our car rental arrangements failed to materialise. A great service for 2 stranded visitors by an employee who went the extra mile.
Anna is a fabulous guide amazing knowledge of birds, flora and fauna made it an extremely interesting walk. Very pretty scenery and baby blue penguins what more could you ask for. Definitely recommend this tour.
The trip out to the island was the highlight with albatross coming in very close to boat. The alternative water taxi would be less than half the price and then use self guide book.
Excellent service to get from Bluff to Stewart Island. Friendly staff. Well informed and information shared about the journey.
