Full description

Explore the incredible fjord landscape in Lysefjordon on this guided kayaking tour. Learn the basics of kayaking, then embark on the water to see mountains, gorges, waterfalls, and wildlife. Take breaks to learn about the area and fully enjoy the scenery.

After meeting your guide, start with a short briefing about the trip, safety talk, and waivers. Gear up in the necessary paddling gear before walking (150 m) to the kayaks down by the fjord.

Adjust the seats and pedals of your kayak with the assistance of the guide, then set out on the water to learn the basic paddling techniques, including efficient forward paddling and how to steer the kayak.

When you've got hold of the basics, follow your guide across the fjord where you'll be paddling closely along to the 300-400m tall mountains, exploring beautiful gorges and waterfalls, and hopefully meeting some of the curious seals of the fjord.

Enjoy multiple short breaks on the water, where you can enjoy a chocolate snack and learn about local history, culture, and wild edibles in the fjord. Before turning around to head back home, paddle right below the Pulpit Rock.

Tldr - an awesome gig with a great guide! We started off with a quick, but comprehensive safety/padding training and then we were off. There was also a moment about splash skirts, but I'll let you come up with your own jokes, when the time comes ;) Weather was spectacular for the event, so everything aligned for our group to have an excellent adventure. Our Mighty Dane of a leader proved to be both knowledgeable about his craft and entertaining sharing stories and trivia about the fjord and the surrounding mountains. Pacing was excellent as well, winds and current really helped us get through everything we could possibly see in the allotted time. Things to consider: - transportation - plan your route in advance...duuh - endurance - this was my first time paddling, but if I could manage the whole 14km with no prior training, then you can succeed too (technique matters). Do yourself a solid favor - book the trip, enjoy the stunning views and keep an eye out for seals ;) and jellifish

The experience was fantastic. The weather that day was cloudy and there was fogs around the top of the mountains. so our expectations were low. Yet the waterfalls around the mountains are very visible because of the heavy rain. The view of the mountain is very exciting and impressive. Overall healthy and fun way to explore the fjords. Our instructour is friendly and shared some beautifull stories about the Fjords. 10/10 i would recommend it, whenever you have a chance.
