The siege ended in the Nazis failure to capture Leningrad, despite having cut off all land connections to the city. The unsuccessful military operation to capture Leningrad was the longest and most destructive siege in history, which resulted in the loss of many lives. You can get a better understanding of this monumental historical event at Piskarevskoye Memorial Cemetery and the Memorial Monument/Museum on Victory Square, which we will visit on the tour. It's simply unbelievable how this city survived the 900-day blockade, and worth spending a day learning about this heart-rending and remarkable story. You will be picked up at your hotel and together we will start our tour. We will visit the War Memorial on Victory square and Piskarevskoye Memorial Cemetery. At the end of the tour the guide will take you either back to your hotel, to a recommended cafe/restaurant to have dinner, or to any place of your choosing.
