Full description
Leave your hotel, and travel to the waterside behind St Petersburg’s Winter Palace where your boat awaits. If you have chosen the Neva River boat ride, step aboard and take a 45-minute sightseeing cruise by speedy hydrofoil, admiring city sights along the Neva River. Hop off your boat at Peterhof Estate, and head inside its Lower Park, home to more than 140 fountains in a setting reminiscent of Versailles Gardens. Stop for photos by the statue of Samson boldly holding a lion’s jaw open at the Grand Cascade, and admire other notable water features such as a fountain spouting with Chinese dragons. Inside Peterhof itself, you’ll explore the lavish Grand Palace with its gilded statues and opulent furnishings. Learn about the palace’s history as you explore the richly ornate rooms. From the palace, head to the Upper Garden for a stroll and see more fountains including the God of the Sea, a cascade statue that portrays Neptune. Beware of water features that were designed to soak guests, in particular, a clever feature cunningly designed as an umbrella. It drips on whoever dares sit below it. When your Peterhof tour ends, travel back to central St Petersburg and finish with a drop off in the center.

Excellent place to visit

Too bad there was no coordination between the guide and the tourists, we lost more than 2 hours trying to locate 7 tourists; They never found them and that made the group of us 7 angry for bringing us more than 2 hours on the bus, only visiting hotel in hotel

Beautiful palace, lousy getyourguide in service.

The palace is beautiful, but it is important to realize that it was all rebuilt, it is not original, so as not to feel deceived. The mistake here is even in the ticket price which costs 1500 rubles (900 for the palace and 600 for the gardens). Getyourguide charged me 111 euros per person, because it said it included a guide in the palace and the trip was all done in Hydrofoil (boat). They came to pick us up at the hotel by bus and went to the highway palace. We were still told that the return was identical, but as we refused, because the paid tour none of this indicated, there they did us the “favor” of giving the boat ticket. worse, was the entrance to the palace, with a wait of more than an hour in the sun. Poor organization, although the guide was reasonable, but tried to rule out the incident of the boat trip. Very bad. I do not recommend the operator.

Well organized trip in spite of the weather

Wind and rain could not spoil the Peterhof trip today. Our guide Dacha was the Sunshine we were so anxieus looking for. She guided and saveguarded us during our stay at Peterhof and provided us with usefull information in a pleasant way. Even the notorious looking female guards of the museum did not impress her and she guided us in a gentle and informative way through the highlights of the palace.
