Rome: 2-in-1 Vatican Dome Climb and Food Tour

3. Rome: 2-in-1 Vatican Dome Climb and Food Tour

See Rome from the highest heights of Michelangelo's magnificent dome on this wonderful guided tour of art, architecture, and adventure. Begin by enjoying views of the Vatican City, including the private Papal gardens, Papal helipad, and the Pope's private railway station. Views of the vast city of Rome are next, which stretch in a tendril-like fashion to the blue Tyrrhenian Sea and green Castelli Romani Hills. Very few tourists get the chance to climb so high to see so far, and your dome climb and basilica tour both end in the late morning. Later, use your afternoon to visit the Vatican Museums, or just relax in the historic center nearby. You then begin a food-tasting tour with a foodie guide from Rome who has chosen her favorite snack spots to take you to. The foods you eat are as distinctive by region as they are plentiful, and include suppli, panzerotto (calzone), pasta, salumi and wine, pizza, ciambellina al vino, tiramisù, limoncello, and coffee.

What people are saying about St. Peter's Basilica Cupola

Couldn't have been better!

We chose this tour at the last minute when all excursions through our cruise line were cancelled because of a strike. We couldn't have made a better decision! Our guide, Vittoria (sp.?) was PHENOMENAL!!! She was warm, charming and so passionate about the history of her wonderful city. Seriously- she was so full of information and had the answers to every question we asked. Lots of great sights, LOTS of walking, but a most enjoyable experience. Take my advice- request Vittoria if you possibly can (hope I got her name right).
