Hear stories about The Forum, Thermal Baths, Lupanare, Greek Theater, and plaster casts of the bodies of Pompeii people. Following a typical Naples lunch of pizza at one of Pompeii’s cafés, you will then be driven close to the summit of the mountain that destroyed it. From there, it's just a walk to the lip of the crater. The only active volcano in continental Europe, Vesuvius has erupted many times, but it was the destruction of Pompeii and its surrounding towns that made it the most famous. Climb to the top, and walk around the crater, taking in the atmosphere of the smoking mountain. Enjoy the stunning views over the Bay of Naples. Return to Sorrento, where you will be dropped off at your hotel, the cruise ship, or the railway station.

The guide arranged for the Pompeii tour is very knowledgeable and trying her very best to give all important information during the limited 2 hour time of visit, that are wonderful. The Mt Vesuvius part essentially is more of a transfer service. At every transfer point , there is a new driver taking over. This is where it gives to issue I had. To be very fair, everything would be perfect until the last dropoff driver mixed up my dropoff address (it is actually the same as my initial pickup point) and dropped me off at a place 35minutes walking distance away. Driver just spelled out the same address and insisted that's the dropoff point - hard to communicate further as he essentially just speaks italian. Reported the issue to the contact number of the tour service provider but I didn't get any acknowledgement or an apology.

Took all the hassle out of arranging each part independently. Tour guide was very knowledgeable and a great introduction to some of the main areas of Pompei. Dropped a star due to the pizza lunch taking 50 mins to arrive in a 60 minute time slot. Had to eat what we could to get back to the meeting point on time. Toilets in the restaurant are 50c, so take some change. Overall a great day out!

A fantastic day out enjoyed by all the family. Good communication prior to the day regarding pick up (from our hotel) and an excellent trip. Also had time to stop at a local store with lots of different home made samples and a nice pizza lunch at a restaurant close to Pompeii. However the highlight was Maria, the guide at Pompeii who provided an excellent tour with lots of interaction and humour with the party.
