What people are saying about Sorrento
I'm not one who usually does overpriced tours but after reading many reviews I decided that this was the type of trip that warranted a guide, transport and local knowledge. I wasn't disappointed. Hugo was very informed, had an excellent command of English and seemed genuinely delighted to be hosting our tour. Coach pickup was precise, and we arrived at Pompeii 9:01. Our journey through the vast site was informative and enjoyable. Hugo was able to truly portray the events of the time and the pre and post history that accompanied the event. We were fortunate with the weather and light crowds due to Covid but nonetheless, Hugo was able to convey and show us a true sense of history on the tour. Vesuvius was likewise a wonderful experience. No opportunity for Hugo to accompany us but drop off and pick up was on spot and we arrived back in Sorrento fully appreciative if the whole day event. Would highly recommend the tour. Money well spent.
Pick up was spot on time and the guide was very knowledgeable. Weather stayed fine despite threats of thunderstorm. Pompeii is a huge area so a guide is really essential. The Pompeii tour was 2 hours long which was a little tiring but there was a 1 hour break for lunch before rejoining the coach to go to Mount Vesuvius. The coach cannot go to the summit so there is a hike up a steep zig-zag path to the top. I could not manage that but my younger companion said the view from the top and into the crater was worth the effort.
We had a great time visiting Pompeii and Vesuvius. Our guide Vito was very knowledgeable about the sites and made the most of our time. Pompeii is much bigger than I thought and I'm very glad we chose to go with a guide who knew the sites we would want to see. It was a good mix of guided and free time, we never felt rushed. 10/10 would definitely book again.
Capri was sensational, and you were given more than enough time to consume and be grateful for it. But the best experience was the chance to swim in the near transparent waters around the island. You can see fifteen metres, past tropical fish, right to the bottom of the seabed in perfect detail. I would recomend it to anyone.
Absolutely brilliant time on the tour from start to finish! Our guide Fabio picked us up on time from our hotel and took us to some beautiful locations along the coast and took many photos. The last location, I will leave as a surprise because it was breathtaking...you must book this tour to find out for yourself!
