What people are saying about Snæfellsnes
During our tour we took a fair amount of stops for food and bathroom breaks which was nice. Being able to get food and stretch for a bit before going on long drives. During our drive the tour guide, Omar, gave us so much insight about iceland, how the mountains were made the landscape formations, and a ton of stories about the first settlers. Each major stop we took about 30-1 hour to explore the places and to take photos. One of our favorite locations was the black sand beach which had a frozen lagoon, lava mountain, and glacier all in one spot. Towards the night time we went to another location which required some hiking which was easy if you never hiked through deep snow before. At the end we stopped at a local community center for lamb stew and hot chocolate.
Our driver, Carlos, was the most delightful and informative tour guide that made the beautiful Snaefellsness experience an excellent one. Carlos was an absolute professional, very attentive to the needs of each passenger and their safety. We felt very confident in his driving skills on the winter condition roads we traveled. The minibus was very clean, comfortable and with much appreciated heating and wifi. Carlos provided just the right balance of local lore, history (with great theatrical delivery!) and a playlist of Icelandic music. The scenery was beyond amazing and well worth the long travel time. Enjoying a home cooked meal was a wonderful part of this tour just before leaving the peninsula at the end of the day.
This was the best and wonderful trip what we experienced in Iceland. Fortunately weather was clear and sunny and the whole travel route were a feast for our eyes. Our driver and guide Mr. Bjöur was very knowledgeable and caring person. He allow us to spend more time in every locations and explains all history in detail. He even dropped us near to our stay. Overall it was an amazing experience to us.
The whole trip was great. It was mid winter hence dark but we had great weather. The transport was comfortable and timely. The scenery is spectacular. But the best mention must go to Adonis our guide. He was very friendly, kind and knowledgeable. He really enhanced the trip.
AJ was absolutely brilliant as a guide. His knowledge is next level!
