    1. From Sofia: Skopje, Northern Macedonia Day Tour

The history of Skopje began with the settlements of the Thracians and establishing the fortress of Scupi. Since then, the town has changed its sovereign numerous times, being part of the Roman, Byzanatine, Bulgarian and the Serbian countries for short time.  The Ottomans conquered the city in 1392 and changed the name to Uskub, which became home for numerous Ottomans, Bulgarians and Albanians.  In 1912, the city was liberated from the Ottomans during the First Balkan war, and eventually became a part of the Serbian country. During the two world wars, it was eventually given to Bulgaria, before becoming capital of the Macedonian Federation in the Yugoslavian socialistic republic. The city then started growing rapidly industrially and economically.  Unfortunately a huge earthquake in 1963 destroyed a huge part of the town, leaving more than 100,000 people without homes. Skopje managed to ...

The guide man was really nice! He thought us first and tried to meet our wishes as much as possible. This tour was like a private tour because there were no participants except us. While traveling by car, he also provided detailed information on the geography and history of Bulgaria and Macedonia, and the Balkans. He was very knowledgeable. English was very fluent and easy to hear. After a three-and-a-half to four-hour drive one-way, they guided me through the new town and the old town, and took many pictures. He told me about restaurants, souvenir shops and good places to exchange money. He also taught me to be careful when sightseeing with only two girls. The sightseeing of Skopje itself is only 4 hours, but it was a satisfying trip! The distance traveled by car was long, but the guide man talked happily and told me various things during sightseeing, so I was able to spend all my time happily. I was worried at first because the number of reviews was small, but I really recommend this

A great almost private tour of the center of Skopje right from the start. During the tour they were introduced to places that they would not otherwise have gone to or could not even go to. Guide Kate was wonderful and was able to tell openly about local life and the story. Suorittelen!

Because of the hot weather, I was the only participant and got the tour by private! Tourguide was nice to be with and she told more than I expected! For every question she had several answeres!

Our guide was very friendly and informative. He was very knowledgeable, and explained the history so that we understood it. We loved Skopje, and it’s well worth the travel time.

Go to this trip hungry :) Very nice and good guide Kate. We went by most of the important features of the city, learning about their history. Food was excellent. Recommend.
