Note that we visited the Sapphire ice cave, at the time of writing this. Not the Crystal or Diamond cave as you might have read in the internet. These caves appear and disappear over seasons. So by the time you visit, it might not be the same cave. We had a good time with Pat and he was a friendly and knowledgable guide. The journey by super jeep is some 40 mins one way, 30 mins of walk one way to the cave, 20- 30 mins in the cave, and back. The ice caves were so beautiful and the tour was totally worth it.
100% recommend this 5 hour glacier hike, you get to explore so much more of the Glacier vs the 3 hour. Our guide was so awesome, he knew so much about the glacier, filled the group with confidence and even went to the trouble of setting up an abseiling rope so we could get a closer look at a huge crevace waterfall. Truly amazing and can’t thank him and troll expeditions enough!!
The glacial hike was incredible, our tour guide Joao was really fun and informative. The drive over was fast, and we got to explore both the glacier, crevasses and learnt everything about the glacier itself. Would recommend highly to anyone wanting a very memorable experience.
We didn’t see the ice cave (maybe a super little one) but all in all it was awesome. Glacier hike, glacier science, glacier guide Adam was fantastic. Thanks! It’s sad that this glacier will be gone very soon. We were at the Falljokul
It’s an amazing experienxe, also very instructive. The guide was funny and helpful
