Your driver will pick you up from your hotel or the port in Aqaba . Then we will drive towards the rose red city of Petra, the biggest attraction of Jordan. Petra was first established around the 6th century B.C. by the Nabataean Arabs, a nomadic tribe who settled in the area and laid the foundations of a commercial empire that extended into Syria. Upon arrival you will begin the trip from the Visitors Center by foot through Djenni Tombs, and then continue through the canyon called Siq. Finally, you will open your eyes on the most beautiful monument: The Treasury, which is called in Arabic Khazneh. Among other monuments you will see the Street of Facades, the Royal Tombs, the Roman ruins and the Qasr El-Bint. After the classical trail your tour guide will give you free time to discover the other parts of Petra by your own. In case you would like to visit the Monastery you will follow 970 stairs to get there by your own. After completing your visit in Petra, the driver will be waiting for you in the visitors center to bring you to the local restaurant for lunch. You will continue your day by enjoying the Little Petra visit for 1 hour. In the late afternoon, we will drive you back to your hotel in Aqaba.

Entering Petra, through the Siq, you will arrive at the famous Treasury. One of the reasons Petra is one of the seven wonders of the world is The Treasury - the most famous facade in Petra. More than 800 statues, facades, temples, the Roman theater, tombs, caves, and more... Unforgettable experiences in ancient architecture. The Nabateans inhabited Petra over 2000 years ago and prospered from building a water conduit system. Water was sold to the passing caravans, merchants, and travelers. Petra began to decline after the earthquake in 363 A.D. Not having enough resources to rebuild it, people left Petra. Day 1: Petra There will be a flight at 06:30 a.m. from the Ben Gurion airport in Tel Aviv. We will pick you up from Eilat Airport of Ramon at about 07:40 a.m. and take you to the Arava border. Drive to Petra in an air-conditioned vehicle. When we arrive at the visitor center, we will start the tour. We will see the Treasury House, the tombs the Roman Theater, and more. You will learn about the Nabataens history, their art, their gods, and more. After 3 hours of walking and learning, we will eat lunch in one of the local restaurants. After lunch you will be taken to Wadi Rum, where you can sleep in a Bedouin style tent, and enjoy the atmosphere and the quiet of the desert. Day 2: Wadi Rum After breakfast in the Bedouin camp, we will start the touring day. A drive of about 2 hours on 4x4 wheels will take you to a magnificent landscape. We will introduce you to the Nabataens ways, and the Bedouin way of life. After the tour drive back to the Arava border and to the Eilat Airport for your flight back to Tel Aviv. We cross at the King Hussein / Allenby border, and enter Jordan, driving through the Judean desert for about an hour. We continue towards Madaba, an ancient Jordanian city, and go up to the viewpoint of Mount Nebo. Then we will have lunch. From here we will go to a Bedouin camp near Petra where you will enjoy Bedouin hospitality, including an Arab-style dinner and a comfortable bed for the night. Before going to sleep, sit beneath the clear desert skies and stargaze, as you drink a cup of delicious Bedouin tea.. On the second day we will tour Petra. One of the seven wonders of the world, and Jordan’s most treasured attraction, Petra is an unforgettable place. It was carved into the red rocks of the soaring cliffs in the early 1st century as the tomb of a Nabataean king, and was hidden under sand for centuries before recently becoming accessible again. We will enter through the Siq, a narrow gorge, and tour the Treasury and Amphitheater with our guide who will explain the sites and history as you marvel at the beauty of each structure. Then you will have free time to continue individually as you wish: climb to the Royal Tombs, walk down the Roman Cardo, hike up to the Monastery, and explore the different sites. We will meet up for lunch in Wadi Musa before returning back to Jerusalem via the Allenby border crossing.
