Full description
Explore Siena's rich history, culture, and traditions with a local guide. The tour is designed to show you Siena's most intriguing sites in a short period, with plenty of stops for photos along the way. Start the tour with a visit to the Basilica of San Domenico, which is home to Saint Catherine's relics. Continue to some of the city’s most significant sites including the Piazza del Campo, where the famous Palio, the horse race is organized twice a year. Pass by the Baptistery and the Siena Cathedral (or the Duomo di Siena), where you will be amazed by the beauty of the marble. During this 3-hours tour you can decide if you want to enjoy Siena walking through the streets and alleys or include also the visit of the Cathedral, where you can admire artworks by Donatello, Michelangelo and Bernini and the amazing marble floor. If you are more interested in the Palio tradition, we can visit a Contrada Museum, where you can understand why this horse race is so important for the Sienese and see all the prices that they won over the centuries.

The Siena Walking Tour was a great idea! Our guide, Shaklo ', proved not only prepared, but also very nice and engaging. He accompanied us along the most significant places in Siena, telling us about history and architecture, but above all he transmitted us the enthusiasm with which the Sienese live the palio, he told us all the traditions that are linked to it, he transmitted us what it means for them live the district. She was not in a hurry, she enjoyed the visit with us, and, since it was a very cold afternoon, she made herself available to extend the duration of the visit a little to stop us in a bar to get something warm. The tour lasts a couple of hours (but we did not choose the option to enter the Duomo, we reserve it for another time) and is a great way to discover this beautiful city in a short time. My 12 year old daughter also liked it. I recommend it.

We were able to experience a very nice and interesting city tour with Sigrid. Due to the small number of participants, we were able to ask questions very well and learned a lot of new things. (I'm still fascinated by how many numbers and dates Sigrid was able to remember). It was great, thank you!
