3-Day Cappadocia Tour

3. 3-Day Cappadocia Tour

Göreme National Park and the Rock Sites of Cappadocia were added to UNESCO’s World Heritage list in 1985. Discover these natural wonders on a 3-day professionally guided tour, choosing from Alanya, Side, and Belek departures. Cappadocia, located in eastern Anatolia, boasts a unique historical and cultural heritage. In addition, the landscape of the region’s Devrent, Paşabağ, and Pigeon valleys is characterized by unusual fairy chimney formations. Millions of years ago, 3 of Cappadocia’s mountains were active volcanoes. Volcanic eruptions and erosion of the tuff layers of volcanic ash created the formations you see in the area today. During this excursion you’ll come across a wide variety of fairy chimney shapes, ranging from conical, pointed, and columnar to hat and mushroom-shaped. Visit an underground city and the Göreme Open Air Museum, which features over 30 rock-carved churches and chapels, dating from the 9th to the 11th centuries, and many with interior frescoes. Your guide will take you to the Mevlâna Museum in Konya, the mausoleum of Jalal ad-Din Muhammad Rumi. The site was also the lodge of the Mevlevi order of whirling dervishes. If you like you can choose to see a whirling dervishes show (not included in the tour price).

Minibus with German and Russian speaking guides. The German-speaking travel guide Faruk, the oil man, shared his profound knowledge of botany with us. After visiting an orange plantation, we got an impression of the forest fires from summer 2021 on the way to the Taurus Mountains. After a hike in a place with "button houses", we enjoyed an herbal tea made from herbs from the region. The largest cave in Turkey, the total length of which is approx. 5.2 km, can be visited with a rubber dinghy over a length of 200 meters. The extensive, varied lunch was then taken in a hotel in Ormana. Extremely delicious Turkish cuisine. After a 1-hour drive we reached a historical village with a historical school and mosque to be visited. The opportunity to purchase agricultural products was given.

We were very pleasantly surprised! The trip was well accompanied, we learned a lot. The landscape is just amazing and everything was just right. It was a good mix of adventure and culture and cuisine. For us, lunch in the mountain village was an absolute highlight. No food in the hotel could beat that! A really big compliment to our tour guide and of course also to our bus driver, who brought us safely through the winding roads :)

It was a very interesting trip. Many thanks to Faruk for his great information. It was great fun and very funny. Thanks also to the good driver who brought us salvation through the mountains. But I have one small thing: please make masks compulsory on your tours. It just feels safer right now!

A very interesting and recommendable tour. You get to know Turkey from its natural side and get an impressive insight into life in the country. The food was more than enough and very tasty. Overall the best excursion of our stay.

That was a really great trip! Many thanks to the dear tour guide Ahmet, we had a lot of fun. Lots of interesting impressions, lots of information and the food was great too!
