The boat will then cruise around three beautiful islands - Small Cakovica, Big Cakovica, and Lipovnjak. The boat will than proceed inside the breathtaking fjord Pavlova Strana, which is considered to be the most beautiful place on Skadar lake. It will lead you to an old fisherman's village called the river of Crnojević. Our adventure starts early in the morning, at 6.00 we meet the guide to leave by car or minivan in the direction of Koman Lake. We stop halfway for a coffee and leave to arrive around 10 on the shores of Lake Koman. Here we get on a small boat, one of the twenty-seat motor boats used as a means of transport by the locals since the birth of the lake. Going up the waters, we immerse ourselves in a landscape made of intense colors. The almost emerald green of the water, the light and warm colors of the rock and the dark ones of the vegetation. A myriad of small farms, livestock farms, villages consisting of three houses in the middle of the woods extend to the edge of the water. Then, accompanied by our guide, we will go to visit the Valbona waterfall. Return to the hotel with dinner and evening of celebrations. Second day Departure on Sunday at 9 for Lake Xhema, to then reach Prizren located in the southern part of the country, not far from the border with Albania and Macedonians. Prizren is the second largest city in Kosovo. Known since the Middle Ages for its beauty, it is located at a height of 450 meters and is protected by the chain of the Sharr Mountains, which rise up to 2748 meters in height. In the center of the old city, a real architectural jewel built along the banks of the Lumbardhi river (the white river also called Bistrica), you move between churches and mosques. Walking respectfully along the winding streets of the old city, you hear secrets and legends. Passing through the ancient stone bridge, you reach Piazza Shadervani, the main square of the city and a meeting place during the day and at night. Around here there are two important places of worship, the wonderful Sinan Pasha mosque and the Orthodox church of San Giorgio. But the most important church in Prizren is the Cathedral of Our Lady of Ljeviš, built in the 14th century and today protected by UNESCO. Many peoples have succeeded one another in Prizren and have left traces that have been stratifying. To get an overview of this Kosovo city from above, just go up to Kalaja, the ancient castle built by the Serbs in 1300 (optional). Departure for Tirana via Rruga e Kombit, stop for a coffee along the way.

Fom Tirana: Shkodra Main Attractions Tour

5. Fom Tirana: Shkodra Main Attractions Tour

Meet at 9:00 AM at your hotel in Tirana. Head towards Shkodra and begin to explore its main attractions. Located at the entrance of the town, 3km south of the city center, Rozafa Castle (fortress of Shkodra) is located on a rocky hill. It's one of the biggest and most famous castles in Albania. The Rozafa castle has a fascinating history. Archaeological excavations have yielded finds extending from the early Bronze Age. Within its massive defensive walls stand the Church of St. Stephen, several Venetian administrative buildings, and some medieval rooms. On the border of Montenegro and Albania, you'll find Shkodra Lake, a former ocean bay that was cut off from the Adriatic Sea when the sea levels dropped thousands of years ago. The lake is the largest in the Balkans at 41km long and with a surface area between 370-530 km2. The bottom of the lake is well below sea level, making it what's known as a crypto depression. Shkodra Lake is also one of the largest bird reserves in Europe, having some 240 bird species inhabiting its shores, including some of the last pelicans in Europe. Thus, it's very popular with bird watchers.  See the Catholic Cathedral, one of the biggest in Balkans and dedicated to St. Stephen. After a reconstruction in 1991, the cathedral was inaugurated by Mother Theresa and two years later it was visited by Pope John Paul II. Inside the cathedral is a copy of the Shroud of Turin, bearing the negative image of a man, which some claim is Jesus of Nazareth. After visiting the cathedral, enjoy walking on the main boulevard in Shkodra.  You will arrive back in Tirana around 6:00 PM.

What people are saying about Shkoder County

This is one of the best hiking tours I’ve ever done so far. Kevin, our guide, was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Because it was a little bit early in the season, there’s still a lot of snow in the summer path, thankfully Kevin knows how to navigate around without it being too dangerous. The ferry ride was incredibly beautiful. Valbona is like straight out of a fairly tale. Theth feels like a movie set. Doesn’t look real. Would definitely do this tour again in a heartbeat!

Amazing trip! I cannot recommend this highly enough - the views are incredible and I think I will always remember swimming in the icy mountain waters of the Shala River. The whole trip was really made by our guide Alban, who is simply a kind, generous and knowledgeable (and super adventurous!!) guy who seemed to be always smiling and happy!. 11/10.

This tour is a must have if you plan on visiting Montenegro. Our tour guide was Slavko. He was very easygoing, kind and funny and told us funny/interesting stories out of his life in Montenegro. We saw many beautiful places, had good talks, food and alcohol tasting. The tour was totally worth the price

Nice mountains+beautiful river=perfect combination. Everything was good. Very friendly guide make our trip perfect. Note that due to heavy traffic trip may take whole day.

Fantastic tour in a wonderful place! Highly recommended! Also great snacks, wine and water included.
