Shibuya & Harajuku: Hidden Gems & Highlights Private Tour

2. Shibuya & Harajuku: Hidden Gems & Highlights Private Tour

Explore one or two of west Tokyo’s eclectic neighborhoods on a guided tour, where the weird and wonderful is never far away. Discover Shibuya, the enormous entertainment district, and Harajuku, the epicenter of Tokyo’s youth culture. You'll be paired with guides that are passionate about the place they call home and who choose to spend their free time sharing it with like-minded travelers matched to them. Jostle your way through hordes of locals on your way to the zelkova tree-lined avenue of upmarket Omotesando, and pass cool designer stores on your way to bright and bustling Takeshita Street, the epicenter of Tokyo’s youth culture exploding with colorful boutiques, cafés, and all things adorable. Next, stop off at the strangely out-of-place Moyai Statue, a massive landmark modeled on the Moai of Easter Island, then make the mad dash across Shibuya Crossing, one of the busiest intersections in the world (and certainly the busiest in Japan). Your personalized itinerary will be planned according to the number of hours booked and adapted to your preferences.

This ramen tour was absolutely incredible! One of the best experiences I’ve ever had in my life period. I like to think I know a decent amount about ramen but Frank actually lives and breathes the stuff. It was so cool getting to pick his brain about all things ramen while trying some of his favorite spots around Tokyo. If I could do it all over again I would in a heartbeat, although I would probably try harder to find a friend to come with me so I could try all 4 options at each stop instead of having to choose 2. Overall this was an unforgettable experience, easily the best part of my trip to Japan. I’d highly recommend this to anyone whether you’re a seasoned ramen veteran or a total newbie you’ll be able to get so much out of this experience.

This tour is a must if you are visiting Tokyo. Foodies and history enthusiasts will both get their fix. We got to pick 6 different ramens (smaller portions that add up to the equivalent of a full meal) out of a total of 12 available at three restaurants. Our assembled tour group of less than ten people walked and took the subway between the three locations and this gave us the occasion to get to know each other. Frank was very personable and knowledgeable. Two thumbs up!

This tour was fantastic! Mariana was so friendly, kind, knowledgeable and fun. We only had 21 hours in Tokyo on a layover, and the four hours spent with Mariana were put to fantastic use! She showed us around all of the main areas that we wanted to see, as well as took us to some local spots and brought us to fantastic food locations. Would absolutely recommend this tour and Mariana!!

Frank was very knowledgeable and easy going; I had a great time walking from shop to shop discussing the city and it’s good culture with him and my fellow travelers. We tried six delicious and vastly different ramens that were thoroughly explained and I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Tokyo!

Very convenient. Our guide Izumi is very nice and we had fun walking around Shibuya.
