Paris 4-Hour Bike Tour: Off the Beaten Path
- Small group
- Skip the line through a separate entrance
- Duration: 4 hours
The tour was good fun and our guide, Benjamin, was great! He was friendly and gave us good information about the history of Paris (infused with humor). I especially liked the fact that he was constantly mindful of the biking capability of different group members, and paced the ride accordingly. As a person who has not biked around on busy streets, and is unaware of traffic rules in Paris, I felt very comfortable riding in the city, as Benjamin gave us clear instructions and asked each of us every few minutes, if we were comfortable and alright! Apart from that, the route followed was very good. The main tourist places known to all were avoided, rather we went to some of the more authentic places - e.g. Shakespeare and Co. (one of the oldest book stores in the city), the oldest cafe in Paris, etc.). The guide gave us good tips on what tourist traps to avoid and where to get the most of authentic experiences (food, shopping, etc.) instead. All in all, a great way to explore the city!
Our lovely guide, Nina, took us all around the common and uncommon places of Paris. We got to know about the history of the fountains, the invaders and the sculptures on the buildings. We also got into the crowded and famous streets for falafels and bakery in the Jewish quarter. Pantheon, the second largest church after Notre Dame, the roman amphitheater, Luxembourg gardens and more were beautiful connected by biking through the side streets of the city. We also got a map of the tour at the end.
My son and I enjoyed this tour and our guide Nicola (spelling?) immensely. It was such a great way to easily explore the back streets of the center of Paris. We learned so much from Nicola and had a blast doing it. I'd highly recommend both the tour and Nicola to anyone!
Thank you to Melissa who took us around Paris giving us interesting facts in a fun way. A big thank you to Blue Bikes who allowed us to change bike tour as we would have missed our tour due to our train failing and consequently making us miss te start of our tour.
I have 2 teenagers 12 and 15 and this was a great way for them to experience the city. Our guide was very knowledgeable on all aspects of history. Her local knowledge was fantastic with quirky details. Thanks we highly recommend
