Here is a description of the places we will visit during our Segway tour through the old town of Valencia. Archaeological Museum of Valencia The word museum may not sound very exciting, but in reality it is much more than a museum, it is an ancient Roman square. This is a perfect spot to have a panoramic view of the great monuments of the city, which have been declared of historical and artistic interest. The Cathedral of Valencia has a lot of history and is very peculiar, as it is located where centuries before there was an Arab Mosque. The construction of the Cathedral is a fusion of many architectural styles, which we will discover on our tour. Plaza de la Virgen We will continue to the Plaza de la Virgen, one of the most dazzling and emblematic squares in Valencia. It is surrounded by picturesque buildings, a large fountain, known as the Fountain of Neptune and a wide gastronomic offer of typical foods of Valencia. From the Plaza de la Virgen, we will visit the Palacio de la Generalitat Valenciana, the old town hall of the city. This 15th century palace presents a mixture of architectural styles, including Valencian Gothic. We will continue along Calle Caballeros, a street that has kept its name since 1412 and where noble families used to live. Today this street is home to a variety of stores and restaurants. The small alleys lead to different directions with many hidden wonders, including churches and some incredible street art. It is a historical monument of the city of Valencia, where its vaults have been decorated with fresco paintings. Today it is one of the most visited churches in Valencia.
