Travel to a tunnel dug by North Korea, see observatories and visit the unification villages in the DMZ. Drop by 3 stops at Imjingak - Freedom Bridge, Mangbaedan Altar, and a steam locomotive that was destroyed during the Korean war. Board a bus with your guide (or group) and continue on to the DMZ. Visit four different places within the DMZ. First, arrive at The 3rd Infiltration Tunnel by walking (or monorail if private option is selected) and see a tunnel dug by North Koreans to invade South Korea. Next, explore Dorasan Observatory, the northernmost observatory of North Korean territory. Then arrive at Dorasan Station, which is the northernmost station in South Korea, connected to Pyeongyang Station. You’ll also have a chance to visit some Unification Villages during your tour of the DMZ. Finally, visit the suspension bridge at Gamaksan, where the allied forces fought a fierce battle in the Korean War. Take a 15 to 20-minute hike and marvel at the stunning natural beauty at the top of the bridge. For a private tour, you can select to visit the Majang Suspension Bridge at beautiful Majang lake which was the scene of a battle in the Korean War. It has now been turned into a scenic destination with the longest suspension bridge in South Korea, where you can walk the 256-meter bridge.

Nami Island is a half-moon-shaped isle, and on it is the grave of General Nami, who led a great victory against the rebels in the 13th year of the 7th king of the Joseon Dynasty - King Sejo, who reigned from 1455 to 1468. Nami Island also declared its cultural independence and was reborn as the Naminara Republic. It has its own national flag, anthem, currency, passport, phone cards, stamps, orthography, and even a certification of citizenship. The Garden of Morning Calm is a 300,000-meter garden that attracts an array of frequent families, friends, couples and photographers who come to explore the beautifully sculpted garden flowers, trees and pathways of this stunning garden paradise. If you choose the rail bike option, you will see an old train track in the beautiful countryside that has been converted into a serene rail bike track. With this option, visit the rail bike station in the morning before you visit Nami Island and The Garden of Morning Calm. You will have 2-3 hours at each venue and will be dropped off at Dongdaemun History & Culture Park Station, Myeongdong Station, or Hongik University Station. On the non-rail bike option, you will be dropped off between 5:30 PM and 6:00 PM, and on the rail bike option you will return between 7:00 PM and 8:00 PM.

Visit the Suwon Hwaseong Fortress on this guided tour, and admire a premier example of unique Korean architecture of the 18th century. Learn about the scientific, architectural and artistic aspects of Korea at that time. The fortress has become an icon of traditional Korean culture, and has become a popular tourist attraction. Built during the latter part of the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910), Suwan Hwaseong is widely considered among the region’s most impressive fortresses. And visit Hwaseong Haenggung Palace. The palace is located outside of Seoul, and was the king’s residence when he traveled, during times of war and when he visited the tombs. After lunch (Menu: Bibimbab, Naengmyon, Doenjang stew, Dolsotbab, Samgyetang, Bulgogi*minimum order of 2), visit the Korean Folk Village. A museum that depicts life in Korea as it was several centuries ago. As you explore, see blacksmiths, potters and weavers at work, and learn of the traditional trades by which Korean artisans used to make their living. Admire over 250 traditional houses and perhaps catch a performance of traditional folk music and dance at the amphitheater. At the end of the tour you’ll return to Seoul and be dropped off in the Myeongdong area. Imjingak & Paju: Full-day Two Koreas Tour from Seoul

10. Imjingak & Paju: Full-day Two Koreas Tour from Seoul

Meet up with your tour guide at the meeting point and depart to Imjingak in the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ). Imjingak, located 7 KM from the Military Demarcation Line, is a park that was built in 1972 with the hope that someday unification would be possible. It is surrounded by the Unification Park and North Korea Center.  After visiting Imjingak, head to Mangbaedan, a memorial where people from South Korea perform ancestral rites. Every New Year’s Day and Chuseok (Korea’s Thanksgiving), they bow toward their hometowns in the North as a sign of respect.  Then, head to the Bridge of the Freedom, which South Koreans crossed when they came back to their own country from North Korea. Also see the Gyeongui Train Line, which was destroyed during the Korean War in 1950.  The next stop is Paju Provence Village, which is very close to North Korea. Visit Heyri Art Valley and the Forest of Wisdom before heading a place in the village where you can see over the border into North Korea. The last stop of the tour is the Statue of Choi Kyu-shik, a police officer who was killed by a bullet shot by the armed forces at the time of the North Korean spy invasion. Then, return to Seoul.

The trip is very nice and great. The guide is very helpful and kind. The trip started with visit to the garden of morning calm which is very beautiful and pleasant. Nami island is very beautiful. We had a great time during our trip.
