It was a very fun hike. We really enjoyed it. You do need to be in good shape to go on the tour. My mapping app "MapMyFitness" recorded the hike as being approximately 9 miles round trip. The first half of the hike has some steeper inclines, but the path was well maintained and not too difficult.

We had the most amazing experience, especially because of our guide Otto. He was super nice and fun to talk to and gave us great recommendations and facts about Iceland. It felt like hiking with a good friend! Such a lovely guy. Can highly recommend!

you can't see the active lava from the volcano, it's already dry but still worthwhile

It was a wonderful ride with nice stops and a great view after the hike!

The volcano experience was out of the world. Very informative guide
