Fascinating tour, and our tour guide Marc (yes, same name but no relation) was fabulous. Knowledgeable, friendly, funny and very personable. He's a real asset to you and could probably teach other guides if they are new to the job. We are definitely not tour takers, but yours was well worth it, giving us the perfect overview of the historic district before we set out on our own.

Phone call explained that trolley station parking is more convenient than website address. We only used trolley twice: first took the whole tour around and got off before it went back to parking lot; then at end of day, went back to parking lot from nearest "bus stop". Wore comfortable shoes. Both rides had entertaining, knowledgeable drivers. Taking the whole tour first (about one and a half hours), is the way to go.

We were in three different trolleys since we hopped off a couple of times. Each of the narrators was very knowledgeable of Savannah and its history. If you can do so beforehand, obtain some information about what is at each stop so that you will have a better idea of where you want to get off. Be sure to remember where you got off so you know how to retrace your steps. Historical area of Savannah is in a grid pattern, with many parks/squares to use as landmarks.
