Valledoria: Coghinas River Kayak Rental

5. Valledoria: Coghinas River Kayak Rental

With this canoe excursion you can explore the natural and wild beauties of the river Coghinas, third river of Sardinia for lenght with 116 km of navigable water. The route takes place near the Baduboi Bridge: a simple, fun and suitable river descent for everyone, where it will be impossible not to be amazed in front of the unique panorama of the area: reeds, Mediterranean scrub, juniper trees and the possibility to come across a wide variety of birds such as white herons and cinerini, kingfishers and falcons. The route consists of a river descent starting from the hot water springs of Casteldoria and arriving at the end of the Coghinas, about 6 km long. The transfer from the meeting point to the starting point will be made with a van of 8 seats. NO guide will accompany you during the river descent. You can rent a single or double kayak. The price is per person. Curiosity: The Coghinas with its 116 km is the third longest river in Sardinia, the most important in the northern part of the island. It owes its name to Coghinas ("kitchens" in Logudorese) due to the presence of hot water springs near Casteldoria, whose salty-bromine-iodic waters flow at 76°C and give life to an important thermal complex.

Very nice trip to connect with nature and discover parts of Cagliari from a new perspective, while being active; the rowing was not too difficult and the kayak appeared stable (for me as a beginner); our guide was very nice and provided throughout the tour some background about the region and history.
