Sao Paulo, Brazil 2 Hours - Breakfast Tour in Bom Retiro

5. Sao Paulo, Brazil 2 Hours - Breakfast Tour in Bom Retiro

Bom Retiro literally means "good place to rest" and this might be a great place for it until 200 years ago! The success of coffee production and the construction of the São Paulo Railway Company in 1847 strongly changed this area. Also, southern European migration which firstly interested this area, would be replaced by eastern European migration, mostly due to the 2 World Wars. Later on, other kind of migration would contribute to deeply changing this area. Bolivians, Koreans, and Brazilians from the North East are now the predominant inhabitants of this area.

What people are saying about São Paulo

Andre was a very perceptive and friendly guide. The tour was like walking with a friend around a place he really wants to show you. Sure São Paulo is a big city, but this tour shows you more of how the Paulista could live on a day to day basis and still get to see major Architectural and historical buildings of central SP. You will get to see places you would not possibly find or go by yourself. Highly recommend for those who like to walk around a city to explore.

This was money well spent. Andre is friendly and knowledgeable, and the walk included a mix of historic, social and modern cultural hotspots with some stops specifically for Instagram worthy photo opportunities. His English is excellent. I had a great time and after we parted felt very confident to explore the city on my own for a bit based on his advice. Would highly recommend for anyone who is coming for the first time

Andre is an excellent guide. He took us to parts of São Paulo we would never have seen on other tours. His English was superb and his knowledge of SP and Brazil was exceptional. Andre has a brilliant sense of humour and he made you feel so welcome. He made the whole tour very interesting and answered any question we threw at him.
