    Start your tour with an early pickup from Santarém for a transfer to Porto DER. From here, you will take a 2 1/2-hour ferryboat cruise through the channels and islands of the mighty Amazon River to reach the port of Santana du Tapará. On arrival in Santana, you will be greeted by a local English-speaking guide. Your journey continues in a 4x4 for about 80km to reach Sierra do Ererê. As you travel through the savannah towards Monte Alegre State Park (PEMA), take in the magnificent landscape. Once you have arrived at the park, visit several sights including caverns, caves, and pre-historic rock paintings. Learn about the ancient cultures of the Amazon and enjoy lunch in a local community.

    Your day ends with a transfer back to the port, a return journey on the ferryboat, and hotel drop-off.
