Day 1:
Your tour begins with pickup from your hotel in San Pedro at 6:30AM. From there you will cross the border, and as soon as you enter Bolivia a strange scenery will open up in front of you. Your tour continues to the Laguna Verde, at the foot of the Licancabur Volcano. From there, travel continues to the Valley of the Ladies of the Desert, followed by the Termas de Polques, where you can take a full-body bath before leaving for the Geysers of Sol de Mañana, a surprising sign of the activity volcanic area.
Continuing through desert areas, you will visit the Laguna Colorada, the main nesting center for the three species of flamingos. Your adventure continues on the way to Ojo de Perdiz, where the Hotel Tayka del Desierto is waiting to receive you with private bathrooms, hot water, and heating.
Day 2:
On your second day, you will continue your trip to the Ramadita, Honda, Chiarkota, Hedionda and Cañapa Lagoons, where a large number of flamingos reside. Other birds, such as Andean Gulls and ducks, accompany the flamingos in these lagoons (which are flanked by picturesque volcanoes). Your trip then continues with a visit to the Mirador del Ollagüe, where you will enjoy a picnic lunch.
The next stage of your day's journey will take place in a 4x4 car. You will later overnight at the Salt Hotel of the Tayka de Sal Tahua, which has private bathrooms, hot water, and environmental heating.
Day 3:
After breakfast on the third day, you will continue through the salt flats and will direct your 4x4 towards Coquesa, to the north, from where your ascent to an appreciable height over the Thunupa will begin. From there the views of the monumental salt flat are impressive. You'll start a short walk to see the chullpar, a cave with ancient burials, in which a local guide will explain the history of the mummies.
On the way to the hotel you will visit the Chantani Museum, with its sample of ceramics, whimsical stone forms that resemble animals, and their silent mummies that reflect the ancient burials that have taken place in these lands. Later, return by car to Incahuasi Island, which has an ascension path to its summit that turns into an extraordinary 360-degree viewpoint. Your trip continues for final photographs of the sunset, where you can taste national cocktails and exotic drinks to celebrate this event. Half an hour later you will arrive to Uyuni at approximately 6:30PM, where you will be dropped off at a location of your choosing.
