Interesting first overview of San José

Such a tour gains quality mainly through the guide, if he doesn't have it, it's nothing. This guide by the name of Hugo did his job fantastic and presented the tour, which was actually a bit thin, well. Personally, I don't find San José particularly attractive and the core of the tour as well as the city focus on the theater and gold museum. Around it is a bit of a pedestrian zone. Unfortunately, the Jade Museum is not included in the tour, so a higher rating would be appropriate! Without Hugo's great presentation it would have been just an average tour!

Totally disorganized and

Ticket confirmation sent us downtown for 1pm pick up. Van came to hotel. Email arrived at 10 am on day of tour while we were in National Museum of Costa Rica with cell phone off. Instead of refund. We were told we were no shows. Offered to let us take PM not AM tour next day. We were instructed to be ready ay hotel at 12;50. When we got back to hotel from Jade Museum were told tour came at 12. Had to take cab for which not reimbursed and missed first part of tour in National Park which is reason we signed up for tour in first place. A real mess. Will not use this company which subbed our tour to Grey Lines which was indifferent and unapologetic.

A good tour though feels a bit rushed

The tour picks you up from your hotel in a comfortable multiseater shuttle with aircon and the guide speaks both Spanish and English which is great. You take in some of the sights including parks, the theatre and the museum which you will walk around to explore. The tour is good and much is seen considering that the guide and driver have to navigate San Jose downtown in busy road conditions so a lot of time is wasted in traffic. Some of the points of interest will depend on your interest in them and there was the inevitable visit to a coffee and souvenir shop and finale of a journey to another souvenir shop trying to sell you items which after being in South America for two months gets predictable and tiring but all in all the tour was good and they drop you back at your hotel.
