Yosemite was beautiful! Unbelievable beauty! The tour guide Alex was a good guide, was fun and informative. He took us to 2 different locations for photos, absolutely breathtaking. The only downside for this tour is that you only get 3 hours of exploration time for yourself, which may seem a lot but in reality is no where near enough given the size of the park. That’s not to say it’s the tour guides fault, the journey is roughly 4 hours. Overall a brilliant experience and would highly recommend

After we found out that you now need a permit to visit Yosemite Park with your own car, which is not that easy to get, we decided to do this guided tour from SF and have not regretted the decision. Even though the 8-hour round trip (each with a small break of 20-30 minutes) is exhausting, the journey is worth it. The park is stunning! There are several photo stops and you finally have between 3 and 4 hours to walk through the valley on your own, enough time for a lasting impression. Our guide Joseph entertained us very well on the trip with lots of information and anecdotes, while the driver Jack steered the large coach with toilet (!) briskly but very safely along the sometimes extremely curvy route. It was only annoying at the end of the tour that a small number of the guests were dropped off first across the city.

Really, Yosemite requires several days to fully experience the park. However, if you have limited time like we did, it’s worth taking a day trip. We only had 3 hours once arriving. This was difficult because there are so many things to see, the park is very spread out, and the shuttles take about 1.5 hours to circle the park. We were still able to hike one beautiful trail and have a good experience. One frustrating thing was the market stop in the morning for “breakfast.” The guide stated we should buy food for lunch as well because the park food was so expensive. The place we stopped was also very expensive and had a poor selection for anyone with dietary restrictions. We would have been better served by just planning to buy food at the park lodge, which was fairly reasonably priced.
