Full description
Travel through the Great Central Valley into the Sierra Foothills where Forty-Niners panned for Gold. Follow the beautiful Merced River to the majestic Sierra Nevada Mountains. Glaciers cut through these mountains forming spectacular granite monuments you will see throughout the park. Spend a total of 4 hours within the Yosemite National Park: 1-hour on a guided tour and 3 hours to explore on your own. There is the option of selecting a Chinese-speaking guide on certain days. Take advantage of the photo opportunities at: • El Capitan • Bridalveil Falls • Vernal Falls • Yosemite Falls • Cathedral Spires • Half Dome

The trip was very enjoyable. The driver-cum-guide gave a very detailed background of not only the Yosemite National Park, but also about the small towns we passed on the way. The timing of departure and arrival at all locations were perfect and the same for the photo locations. The weather was perfect and the ride comfortable. We returned back to San Francisco in good time. However, due to the seasonal nature of the waterfalls, most were dry.

Departure from Union Square at 7 o'clock Breakfast break at around 9 o'clock Arrival at Yosemite around 13:00 Bus information guide until 16:00 Free movement around 19 o'clock Dinner break around 21:30 at Union Square I haven't participated in any other tours, but isn't it the best choice for a day trip to Yosemite? I enjoyed the whole day. Chablis, the guide and driver, is easy to understand, light and fun. Thank you very much.

Totally worth the long bus ride

This was a great day trip if you're willing to spend most of the day on a bus. Yosemite park is absolutely amazing and really the 3.5 hours you have to spend there is not nearly enough but there's really no way around that due to travel time. Highly recommend Mirror Lake trail. My only real complaint about the trip was that the bathroom on the bus was atrocious; no toilet paper or hand sanitizer. Just as an FYI, you stop half way there at a truck stop to get breakfast and the same place on the way back for dinner. It's pretty much all fastfood options as you only get 20-30 minutes (Taco Bell, Panda Express, Subway, Carl's Junior, Jack in the Box, Popeyes, Burger King). We ended up going to the big grocery store there and getting their hot food (mostly mexican options). Got a bag of roasted potatoes, ribs, and chicken legs that kept us full all day. Just a warning for health conscious folks you may want to bring your own health snacks or plan on buying them at the grocery store.
