What people are saying about San Diego
I visited the USS Midway Museum during the COVID-19 pandemic, which was actually good because it was less crowded than I could hope for! I really enjoyed listening to the stories of the veterans and having all the equipment and functions explained by them! The planes and helicopters on the deck are very interesting and the view on SD downtown and Coronado Island are great!
It wasn't crowded at all. We bought our tickets online and went right through the gates, checked in and started our tour. We received listening devices for different points throughout the museum too. It was all very easy and fun to see all the generations of planes and the history of the Midway and other points of different eras of wars.
Great time. Ended up staying well beyond our initial 2 hrs. Spent 5hrs listening and viewing all the carrier, veterans and staff had to offer. We will need to go back once everything opens back up on the carrier due to the world pandemic that we're enduring and overcoming.
We absolutely had a Great time in the USS Midway even though the lower decks were closed we still kept busy on top and hangar levels. The volunteers on ship were very interesting to talk to and well educated.
This was one of a kind and first experience for me and my friends. Though due to covid-19 health and safety concerns, all the attractions were not accessible but, whatever is accessible is worth visiting.
