Full description
A journey to the impressive lake and mountain region of the ‘Salzkammergut’ with its stunning landscapes – incl. boat cruise (May to October) across the beautiful Wolfgang Lake. With this tour we will enchant you with the ‘Land of Music’. Travelling via Hof and Fuschl our first stop will be in St Gilgen before travelling a little further on to St Wolfgang. There you will find many delights including the local church with its famous winged altar from the 15th century by Michael Pacher and the Hotel White Horse Inn - the setting for the famous operetta ‘Im Weissen Rössl’. On the return journey you will pass the picturesque Krottensee and the Castle of Hüttenstein then via the Scharfling pass along the shores of the Mondsee (Moon Lake), passing the town of the same name once famous for its Monastery. Then continuing back to Salzburg city.

Perfect chance to see outside of the city centre. Stopped in amazing places with good photo opportunities, the perfect weather helped. The coffee and cake stop was a welcome alternative to the boat trip. The tour guide Lizabeth was brilliant, really informative and knowledgeable. Would highly recommend. Only confusion that the ticket said Gray Line tours, but was actually through Panorama. Good saving through this website. Poorly organised at the start getting people into minibuses but fine afterwards

Awesome

We totally loved this tour. It is a very well planned tour. The views are stunning. Enjoyed the boat ride and walk at st wolfgang. It a must visit in your trip to salzburg. The only thing I did not like was that the guide was not fluent in English so was difficult to follow the interesting stories she was saying. Another thing which you need to take action on is the racist comments the guide passed on Indians while describing a villlage. This is totally unacceptable in my opinion. We did the toud on 21/10.

Other travelers should know that with this excursion they are basically paying for the transportation to Salzkammergut. While we had a tour guide, Barbara, she was not very good. She was hard to hear and she seemed to have trouble keeping track of our group. The information she provided (that I could hear) seemed pretty basic.
