It was a very informative tour in the mine explaining how the region grew so much wealth through salt for thousands of years. Honestly my favorite part of the tour was the drive through the Bavarian Alps with the guide explaining the history of the region, and actually we drove right by Hitler’s Eagles Nest! We stopped in a beautiful alpine town for afternoon tea and a snack, it looked like a fairy tale with some light snow coming down on all the historic houses! But please be aware this location is in Germany, not Austria. I was not aware of this, so my phone and credit card did not work since it is a different country than I set travel notices for.

I can only recommend the boat trip. It was rich in information and a lot of fun. A big thank you also to the captain, who turned the boat trip through 360 degrees and turned it into an unforgettable highlight.

This tour was excellent! Our guide, Leopold was informative and entertaining. The sights were beautiful and the salt mine was very interesting. Even our children enjoyed the tour.

It was a great experience that was made very special since we were the only people on the trip. Thanks for a great day!
