This tour was really amazing! Emmanuel, our guide, is local from Bordeaux and he was extremely knowledgeable of local specialities and of course wine. He drove us to the village of Saint-Émilion where we first visited an organic vineyard and we had the opportunity to learn about organic winemaking in Bordeaux . There, our main guide was the owner of the vineyard , a very kind lady who belongs to a family with eleven generations of experience in the winemaking art. After the explanation of the process and after tasting some of the grapes from the vines, we end with a wine-tasting activity where three different and extremely good Bordeaux wines were involved. Once our visit to the vineyard was finished, we then visited the Saint-Émilion where Emmanuel walked us through this medieval UNESCO World Heritage Site while telling us its history. In summary, this tour is strongly recommended for anyone visiting Bordeaux with a very nice, kind and knowledgeable guide as Emmanuel.

Two of us went on a very hot afternoon and we were the only participants for that session so actually had a private tour. As it was so hot we didn't stay outside very long but long enough to appreciate the extent of this vineyard and how it relates to its neighbours. Our guide Matthieu spoke excellent English which helped to ensure that we fully understood what he was telling us. We tasted some excellent wines chosen to enable us to compare them. We learned quite a lot in just one hour and are now keen to make some more comparisons asap!

The tour itself was interesting and well done. Our driver was charming and very knowledgeable of the region. We missed our original tour as booked but were accommodated on the tour the next day. The tour company has a real desire to accommodate and assure that their clients have a good experience. All of our experiences in Bordeaux showed this sincere desire by local businesses to be welcoming and eager to provide whatever makes a wonderful holiday.

We had an amazing time on this trip! Arnaud was brilliant, very knowledgeable and friendly! He couldn’t do enough for you! The trip is well worth the money and the chateaux’s are gorgeous. St Emilion is also beautiful! Definitely recommend! Thanks La Francaise team!

Mathieu was an excellent guide. We learnt a lot about St Emillion wines. It was very pleasant walking around the property.
