Tadoussac or Baie-Sainte-Catherine: Whale Watching Cruise
- Duration: 3 hours
Saw 5 humpbacks in October including a young one which was great. Pretty close to the boat but we didn’t follow them for long so it was brief for a 3hr trip, but we had to get out quite far from shore to search for the whales. Very difficult to understand the narrator as the language switched between French and English without a pause in between. Expensive for a boat trip.
The trip was good, friendly, and enjoyable to watch the show of many Whales, belugas and Focas, but they were too far, I was expecting to see them more closely. The guide speak French but English too, so it was good to understand what about he was talking. The cost, to my view it's a little expensive, for what we get.
I booked an English tour - and was very disappointed that there was still a French part. Also the tour guide would speak for 5 min in French and only 30 seconds in English. While English might be a much simpler language - the time spent was no properly distributed.
We enjoyed it very much. We saw several whales overall and three whales that breached the water which was amazing. We even saw some seals. Service from AML was very good as well. Would recommend this excursion.
Overall it was a great experience there is a little drawback food section a little bit expensive $15 for 4 coffees unacceptable. I would call it gouging tourism taking advantage.
