Departure from Tirana. Join us for an unforgettable day trip to explore the stunning attractions of Shkodra and Lezha ( Scutari and Lisus ), two of Albania's most historic cities. We'll meet at 9:00 AM sharp at your hotel in Tirana before setting off on our adventure. Our first stop will be in the city of Lezha. We will visit the city and then proceed to visit the tomb of the national hero of Albania, Gjergj Kastriot Skanderbeg. Then we continue the trip to visit the iconic Rozafa Castle, also known as the Fortress of Shkodra, located just 3km south of the city center. This massive defensive structure sits atop a rocky hill overlooking the town and has a fascinating history dating back to the early Bronze Age. Archaeological excavations have yielded an impressive array of artifacts, revealing the castle's long and storied past. Within the castle's walls, you'll discover a treasure trove of architectural wonders, including the Church of St. Stephen, several Venetian administrative buildings, and some medieval rooms. From the castle's ramparts, you'll enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside, including the nearby Buna and Drin Rivers. Next, we'll head to Shkodra Lake, located on the border of Montenegro and Albania. This vast body of water was once a bay of the Adriatic Sea but was cut off when sea levels dropped thousands of years ago. Today, it's the largest lake in the Balkans, spanning over 41km in length with a surface area of between 370-530 km2. As one of the largest bird reserves in Europe, Shkodra Lake is a paradise for bird watchers, with some 240 species of birds inhabiting its shores. Among the most impressive are the last remaining pelicans in Europe, whose majestic wingspans can be seen gliding gracefully over the water. Our next stop will be the Catholic Cathedral, one of the largest in the Balkans and dedicated to St. Stephen. After a reconstruction in 1991, the cathedral was inaugurated by Mother Theresa, and two years later it was visited by Pope John Paul II. Inside the cathedral, you'll find a copy of the Shroud of Turin, which bears the negative image of a man that some believe to be Jesus of Nazareth. Finally, we'll take a leisurely stroll along Shkodra's bustling main boulevard, where you'll soak up the vibrant atmosphere and enjoy the city's unique blend of history, culture, and modernity. Leave Tirana on day one and head toward the North of Albania to stop at the Castle of Rozafa. Learn about the castle's role in Albanian history, dating from the Antiquity and the Illiryan-Roman wars, and see the castle, built over the top of a hill. Discover the fascinating legends of the Albanian Epos and how it relates to the castle's history. Depart from the Castle and head down to the city of Shkoder. Marvel at the city famous for its typical architecture, sense of humor, and friendly atmosphere, it is one of the most important city centers of Albania. Take in the religious diversity of the city where one can find a Catholic Church, Orthodox Church, and Muslim Mosque next to each other. Walk through Shkoder and take in some of the most interesting parts of the city, including the most famous “Pedonale”, a pedestrian-friendly area with bars and restaurants. Travel out of Shkoder in the afternoon to head North toward Theth to stay overnight. Drive on the winding road to Theth and upon reaching the destination, be welcomed by a local family in their guesthouse. Hike to the beautiful Gurnas waterfall after breakfast at the guesthouse. Enjoy a leisurely 45-min walk from the center of the village to the waterfall. Visit also the Catholic Church of Theth on the trip out of Theth and see the Lock-in Tower. With more than 4 centuries of history, this building is the symbol of settling the Blood Feuds in Albania.

Day 1: Theth National Park via Rozafa Fortress You'll begin your journey from Tirana, from where you'll travel directly to the city of Shkoder. Enjoy amazing views and the fascinating history of the Rozafa Fortress. Stop for a coffee break in the small town of Shiroke well – known by locals for its quietness and natural beauty. Following a drive Theth, where on route you will stop in the mountain village of Boge and Thore Pass surrounded by mountains. Get settled in the guesthouse in Theth and have a relaxing afternoon and a walking guide of the village where a four century old tower used as reconciliation tower and the 100 – year – old, well-preserved church are the highlights, before a rustic dinner with a glass or two of Raki. Day 2: The Blue Eye of Theth & Grunas Waterfall and Canyon Spend a day exploring Theth National Park on a leasure hike. Marvel at the view and sound of Grunas waterfall and Canyon. Enjoy a refreshing bath and a picnic lunch at the Natural pools and the Blue Eye of Theth, after hiking through stunning scenery. Day 3: Pass from Theth to Valbone Set off on a guided hike through a well-maintained trail suitable also for families and “Sunday hikers”. The route across the Accursed Mountains takes a total of 8 hours with many stops to enjoy, eat (picnic) and take photos of breathtaking panoramas. Day 4: Tirana via Koman Lake Boat Ride Enjoy Valbona’s gorgeous setting, on a wide plain surrounded by towering mountain peaks in the morning. Explore the village of Kukaj or enjoy your morning in Valbone Valley before transferring to Fierze Dam to hop on a boat for a scenic ride passing by rocky mountains and vivid green hill

Join this day tour to explore Shkoder and visit one of the best Agro-tourism farms in the Balkans. Our tour leader will come and pick you up at your hotel in Tirana in the morning. Shkodra city is our first destination, situated in the north-western part of Albania, giving its name to the biggest lake in the Balkans. It is one of the oldest cities in Albania, with a history of a thousand years of habitation. The oldest wall of the Shkodra castle dates from the 1st millennium BCE. The Roman historian Livy cited the town as the capital of the Illyrian king Gent, who fought the Romans in 168 B.C. We will visit Rozafa castle offering tremendous scenery of the lake and the three rivers melting all together in the Adriatic Sea. The city’s architecture is highly influenced by the Venetian style and if you are lucky enough to join the tour of Shkodra in February you might experience the carnival festival. Most of the guests are surprised to learn that the majority of the Venetian masks are handmade and produced in Shkoder. The city’s favourable geographic position has always been an important trading mark through the centuries, making it possible for different civilisations to encounter. After exploring the city of Shkoder, we will drive towards Mrizi i Zanave Agro-tourism farm. We will take a tour around the farm. In addition, we will learn about the story of this farm and how it created jobs for more than 400 people in the surrounding area. The farm collects, elaborates and preserves regional bio fresh local products. We will also learn how this family business adapted some old communist buildings to serve as storage for local-made bio products. You will have some free time to enjoy a traditional lunch or buy some fresh produce products from the farm. In the afternoon we will return back to Tirana. This marks the end of this amazing experience.

Day 1 Tirana- Kruje-Shkoder On our way north the first visit would be at the historic city of Kruja where we will visit the old Bazaar , the medieval castle and the museum of the Albanian National Hero Skanderbeg As we set out on our journey from Tirana, we are headed towards the beautiful North of Albania, with the majestic Castle of Rozafa as our first destination Leaving the Castle, we travel down to the vibrant city of Shkoder! With its unique architecture, hilarious sense of humour, and warm hospitality, this city is an essential part of Albania's history Overnight in Shkodra Day 2 Shkodra-Durres-Berat we will be travelling to the coastal city of Durres, a unique blend of culture and nature. Here, we will be able to take a leisurely stroll on the main promenade and witness the serene beauty of the sea, as well as visit the historic amphitheatre which has long been home to the battles of Gladiators. We shall set forth from Durres and make our way to Central South Albania, to the City of Many Windows, Berat. Since 2008, it has been inscribed in the UNESCO World Heritage list, and continues to be a significant city even today, boasting a remarkable history of over two millennia. Overnight in Berat Day 2 Berat-Gjirokaster-Sarande-Blue Eye-Himare we shall journey towards Gjirokastra, a place 230 kilometers away, renowned for its remarkable preservation of the Ottoman architecture and its prominent agricultural land. We will traverse through the depths of Southern Albania, admiring the green fields that the countryside has to offer. Along our path, we shall be accompanied by the Vjosa River, one of the few untamed rivers of Albania and the surrounding Balkan region. Visiting Old Bazaar, Gjirokastra Castle and Skenduli Heritage House. Visiting Blue Eye One must traverse the verdant parkland to behold the grandeur of the "Blue Eye" spring - an awe-inspiring natural phenomenon and popular tourist attraction. After the Blue eye we drive to the first city of The Albanian Riviera, Saranda. A beautiful picturesque city on the shores of the crystal clear waters of the Ionian Sea Overnight in Himara Day 4 Himare-Llogara National Park-Zvernec-Tirane You can enjoy some free time on the small coastal city of Himare on the first part of your day. Sunbathing if its hot enough or just to enjoy the nature beauty of the town. We drive through the Albanian Riviera leaving Himara behind and passing by the village of Dhermi . After a stop for photos we head to Llogara National Park , we will have a stop on the same place where paragliders start their flight with some amazing view to enjoy. Zvërnec Island is an island within the Narta Lagoon connected to the mainland by a 270m long wooden bridge. If lucky enough we can have a look on the migrating flamingos calmly occupying the shallow waters. The island contains the well preserved 13th-14th century Byzantine Zvërnec Monastery which we can visit. Return to Tirana
