The park is renowned for its wonderful variety of birds that live in and around the lake. Next up you will visit the first of several Royal Palaces and walk a short distance to St. James’ Palace. This old palace used to be the residence of the monarch until 1837. These days it is occupied by Prince Charles, the Duchess of York and Prince Harry. From here you will walk along Londons primary ceremonial road, The Mall which leads to Buckingham Palace but before you get to the home of HRH Queen Elizabeth II, you will see Clarence House, a home with a lengthy Royal history that for many decades was the residence of the Queen Mother.
