Full description

Discover Korouoma, a 30-kilometer-long and 130-meter-deep canyon located southeast of Rovaniemi which offers breathtaking scenery all year round. In Winter, the waterfalls turn into fantastic ice formations that are well-known for ice-climbing.  First, get picked up by your guide from your accommodation in Rovaniemi and set off for the Korouoma Canyon nature reserve. Start the tour with a gentle hike through the park, admiring spectacular scenery including cliffs, rapids, and waterfalls. Keep your eyes on the array of rare species that call the area home. Snowshoes are optional but may be useful if you need more confidence when hiking down the canyon or just want to enjoy some deep snow walks. Then, have the chance to observe some of the most spectacular frozen waterfalls in Europe and enjoy the beauty of snowy nature. Next, savor a typical Finnish lunch snack around an open fire to keep you warm. Watch as your guide shows you their fire-making skills. At the end of the 6-hour excursion, return to Rovaniemi where you will be dropped off at your hotel by around 4 PM.

The warm clothings and shoesprovided by your company was very good to keep warm during the hike in winter time Very beautiful scenery Need to be extra careful coz path was slippery The bbq lunch in the park was very delicious but we would love to have a little more of the sausages.

We took the 7h hike package. At first, kids were really dreaded to go on such a long hike during winter and thought it was boring. However, the kids really enjoyed themselves as the tour guide, Santiago, was very knowledgeable and as we were trekking, he shared with us many useful informations and survival skills. We realised how beautiful nature can be. Time flies while we were having fun and even 7hs was not enough for us! Our tour guide also brought sausages for us to cook by the fire at the rest stop. As one of my family member is a vegetarian, we were surprised when he even provided vegan sausages! Wild About Lapland really allowed both young and old to enjoy themselves! What are you waiting for? Go book for the tour now! ;)

Matteo was super super super. Prepared and confident, he guided us with his children (7 and 9 years old) without ever being afraid but only wanting adventure. Many tales about the canyon and very good barbecue on the finish. Perhaps the best excursion of the trip, thanks to a magical place and the guide in love with his work.
