Venture to the lands of Middle Earth on this half-day Hobbit movie set tour from Rotorua. Visit the working sheep farm that director Peter Jackson transformed into the Shire. See where Bilbo Baggins lived and the quest for the ring began, and enjoy a festive lunch. After departing the Lake Rotorua area your coach will take you across the scenic Mamaku Ranges and through the native Fitzgerald Glade, before arriving in the Waikato Region and the rolling hills of the Shire. While exploring the Hobbit film set, your guide will recount fascinating details on how the set was created as well as provide inside stories on the making of the films. During your tour, you'll see such famous movie locations as the Green Dragon Pub, the mill, the double arched bridge, and the famous Party Tree.

Une immersion dans la Comté de Frondon et Bilbon Saquet, un vrai régal pour les fans du Seigneur des Anneaux. Seul bémol, l'activité ne dure pas 8h comme écrit sur le bon mais une demi journée. Sinon, tout était parfait et notre conductrice Anna était vraiment géniale !

An excellent and thoroughly enjoyable trip to Hobbiton Movie Set with return transportation from Rotorua. The tour was very well organised and the guides informative and passionate. The Hobbiton Movie Set itself was brilliant, with clear evidence of investment into providing a great experience for Movie lovers and visitors alike. Our tour included a banquet (buffet) lunch which was of a good quality and had variety of foods, and free alcoholic (or non) drink. Owing to the construction of new Hobbit attractions (due to complete Dec 23), we were given a complimentary cermaic mug by way of apology which was a lovely touch and makes for a great souvenir, especially when the disruption from the works were minimal. I would thoroughly recommend this tour and visiting the Hobbiton Movie Set to anyone in New Zealand!

Hannah was a really wonderful guide and driver. At Hobbiton, we had another guide. I think her name's Mikayla and she's also lovely. Knows the place extremely well. Lunch was good and there's attendants making sure that they do their best to meet dietary requirements eventhough it is a buffet lunch. Hobbiton is a magical place whether or not you're a LOTR fan.
