Full description
This 3-hour skip-the-line tour is the most intimate way of seeing the Vatican's masterpieces of art. Your own private guide will be available to answer all your questions and ensure you make the most of your time in the Vatican Museums. Visiting the Vatican Museums and St. Peter’s Basilica with an expert, native-speaking guide means you’ll end up with a better understanding of the art and history of the Vatican. In the Papal Palaces that house the Museums you’ll see paintings by Giotto, Beato Angelico, Raffaello, Leonardo da Vinci, and Caravaggio, and a vast collection of classic Greek and Roman art. Admire the Apollo Belvedere and Laocoonte, tapestries designed by Raffaello, maps drawn by a 16th-century cartographer that are so precise they could even be used today. Walk through the apartments of the Popes and the spectacular Raphael Rooms. The journey through time and art culminates with a visit to the Sistine Chapel, the Holy of Holies of the popes, covered with frescoes by Michelangelo and the greatest artists of the 15th century. Your tour can be customized according to your interests. Note that it is priced for up to 2 people, and if there are more in you party, just increase the number of participants when booking and the price will adjusted accordingly.
