San Clemente was the absolute surprise highlight of our Rome vacation. The underground temples were nothing short of impressive. Our German-speaking guide Lorenzo was very enthusiastic and competent, in addition, he had excellent German language skills (unlike many other “German-speaking” guides we got to know in Rome). The bottom line is an insider tip that is absolutely worth seeing.
