Very well run trip, early morning avoids the crowds and heat. The guide we had, her English was very good & clear, and the use of earpieces to hear the guide was great. There were many steps up in the dome, but the views down into the church & over Rome and St. Peter’s Square were well worth it. The tour down into the crypt to see the old Pope’s, was also interesting. Throughout you had a knowledgeable guide explaining everything.

The ascent to the dome was exhausting (especially with a mask), but in the end it was worth it. The great tour guide was right: all our efforts are rewarded in the end with a great view. The tour guide had a lot of interesting information in the luggage and the time flew by! Always happy!!!

Maybe you don't know but the visit to the basilica is free of charge, just like every other church in Italy, and to go in the dome you can buy a ticket there, which wouldn't cost you as much as the tour....but in doing that, you'll have spared somw money, but also you lose on the very important and interesting information oue guide us. She gave us a short history lesson and helped us understand what we are seeing. Loved it with the guide. Up in the dome the view ist the best, ans worth going up the stairs.
