How can you come to Italy and not see Pompeii? It was amazing. For an hour drive south, Sorrento is a lovely addition to the trip. I will add though, that we were in a small van with another couple, so six in all. The driver was nice and accommodating, but really just a driver. Our guide in Pompeii, Sasha was great!!!! Sasha was highly informed and very funny. His passion for the history of Pompeii was infectious. Overall, a great trip, however the costs seems high for basically a 3 hour drive south and backed and a 1 hour tour.

Very interesting trip! Clear recommendation! Our guide Luca was very knowledgable and our driver Andrea was very skilled. We had a great day and Luca gave us lots of infos about the history along the 2,5h on the bus each direction. Two nice stops for a coffee and pastry on the way, and also at a limoncello production place. A great guided tour also through Pompeji; without that, we would have missed a lot of interesting sites and facts; Pompeji is quite large and there is a lot to see. Sorrento is nice for shopping local goodies like limoncello. You can taste everything before buying. Positano is certainly more scenic, but shops were closed during our off-season trip. Meeting time for the trip was very early at 7:00h, but it was good to have more time with daylight. There is a cafe direcly at the meeting point Pyramide (open 24/7), but much better pastry and coffee at „Cappuccino Doc“, 5 min down the road, opening at 6:30h. Best pastry ever!
