Brilliant tour, the lady who took us round was really knowledgeable thanks to her architecture and art history degree. All related in easily-digestible sections and she tried to find us places in the shade to stop as well which was appreciated. Think it was excellent value for money for 2.5 hours + entry into the colosseum, palatine hill and the Roman forum.

A great tour of the area that added a lot to the experience. There was a long line for groups into the Coliseum, but it moved very quickly maybe 15-20 minute wait and our tour guide said that was unusual. I would recommend a tour if you are interested in Roman history and the history of the Coliseum, otherwise you’ll miss a lot just wandering around.

I am not sure of the general price to get into the Colosseum or Forum, so I wish I could speak more to the cost effectiveness. Nonetheless is was great to have a guide going through everything. I could spend a whole day roaming around these areas, so having a guide is helpful if you are in Rome for a short amount of time and wanting to see a lot. I believe we skipped the line for the Colosseum and had to wait a bit for the Forum, but the wait was not terrible. There are some stairs and incline involved, so beware if you have folks with any mobility issues.
