A great tour guide and interesting stories of life and the tragic volcanic deaths in Pompeii. It is a long drive to and from - 2 to 2.5 hrs each way - so be ready for that. You meet the tour guide at the site. So it is a quiet ride with just the driver who does not speak at all to and from the site.

Pompeii is simply a must for anyone interested in the ancient Romans and history. The tour was great. Unfortunately in my opinion after a little bit of time. In the end, you should have some free time. We had a 3 hour drive from Rome and were only 2 hours in Pompeii. It could have been a little more (especially the amphitheater). Lunch was included. Great.

Traveler was decent enough, despite minor mistakes in interpretation of ancient texts and words, helpful and accessible. However, what I didn’t like was the way she insisted on following her everywhere without allowing to venture around on our own. She said that we shouldn’t go ahead of her as she doesn’t like it and no tourism should move ahead of a tour guide. Also, the speech was a bit disgraceful to Americans in a way that she talked to them like they were toddlers and couldn’t comprehend nothing. Also another note, if they say you have booked they are not a lot of people in the same group, the company will come to pick you up with a car instead of a bus as stated. This can be inconvenient for passengers due to lack of space although I can understand why they wouldn’t want to spend fuel on a big vehicle for such a small tourist group.
