as you read another comments, this is an easy way to get to a seat for the audience. however, be aware it is free to get in and if you get there early enough you can get your own seat without having to pay a guide to do it for you. mind you what you're paying for with this guy is some information about the Vatican City.

Who wouldn’t take a unique opportunity to see the Pope under expert guidance? Our guide Ilaria was excellent, interesting and knowledgeable about St Peters Bassillica. However at 27 Euros per person, it’s a little over-priced. Ilaria left us when the Pope entered the stage around 09.15, having supervised us for 2 hours. The Ticket to enter was in fact free and you could probably do the same activity by making sure you got to the Vatican by 07.30 to ensure entry. With a guide, you know you are in good hands but you don’t need a guide to do this. Also, GetYourGuide does a trip that includes the Papal audience and a guided tour of the Basillica for only 20 Euros, so choose this one if you want the guided experience. But worth doing, especially as the Pope walks up the aisle to meet the audience.

Aurelia, our tour guide was excellent! She made our experience phenomenal with her knowledge of Roman and Vatican history. She made sure our group stayed together in between of the chaos and ensured that we got the best seats to see the Pope!
