Next, visit the Roman Forum, one of the most important archaeological areas in the world. The site is home to ancient Rome's most evocative ruins, including the Temple of Julius Caesar, the Arch of Titus, and the Basilica of Maxentius. We had a wonderful experience seeing the Palatine hill and the Roman forum. Our tour guide, I think his name was Danieli, was excellent. I have seen the Forum some 36 years ago but it was so much more special to have a guided tour. It is simply amazing to comprehend the technology that the ancient Romans possessed. I would highly recommend this activity.

Did not really want a guide, just wanted to wonder around and explore. But this was worth it just for the skip the line ticket. That said we discovered on exiting there was another entrance which was much less used, and if we had know about it may have used that instead. The entrance is next to the trojan column.

The guide, Anton was very informative and add-libbed a lot making for an enjoyable visit. Our 9 year old son also found the drama created by the guide entertaining and captivating. One did need to imagine what was there given that much of it has been long since removed and the guide portrayed this well. The earpieces also worked well.
