Full description

A comfortable, air-conditioned coach will pick you up in Rome. As you drive towards rolling hills, your expert tour guide will explain Tuscany’s rich culture and answer any questions you might have about the day ahead.

First, enjoy a walking tour in the hill town of Montepulciano. Take in an ancient but still-functioning wine cellar and ruins that pre-date Rome. Next visit San Biagio, a 16th-century Renaissance church with a travertine facade welcoming in the sunlight and exquisite decorations inside.

Just a short drive away awaits a delicious Tuscan lunch. Enjoy a 3-course meal with wine pairings in the wine cellar of an authentic vineyard farmhouse, including the famous Brunello di Montalcino and varieties from the vineyard itself.

Buy your souvenir Tuscan wine here or wait for the final stop: Pienza. Your tour leader will offer insights, but your time is yours: shopping for pecorino cheese, balsamic vinegar, wines, and other local specialties, finding the right photo opportunity, or simply wandering the streets like a local.

This tour was amazing. Montepulciano is so charming. The 6 course rustic lunch at Polcino was my favorite. Don’t miss this. Our guide was gracious and kind. I appreciate Oates his vast knowledge of the region and all off Italy. The Brunello we tasted at Pulcino was one of the best I’ve had.

The walk to Montepulciano is very steep. I saw folks in sandals struggling. This is definitely a gym shoe or hiking boot activity. The walk up is slow and frequent stops do it is manageable. Our local guide was fantastic. I wish there was time to shop in Montepulciano because the prices cheaper and products were more to choose from than Pienza. I paid $10 more for a spoon rest in Pienza (exact one). There were also more affordable leather shops in Montepulciano that I wish we could have shopped. The vineyard/farm was nice. I enjoyed the food. It was Bicce a handrolled spaghetti with tomato onion and garlic sauce. I appreciated the taste and texture of the pasta. Laura, our guide, was nice and good. The drive back from Pienza is hilly and winding I got car sick and prayed I didn’t chuck on the bus. Luckily there is a tour market with plenty of bathrooms before you get on the highway. Overall, I enjoyed it and would recommend to anyone.

Book this tour! Our guide was hilariously funny and made the bus trip so much fun as he shared his knowledge of Roma. We stopped off in Ombre, to taste delicious chocolate & wine, there are all delicacy’s to taste. You go through a curo shop with all the products made in the area! Soaps, creams, oils, pasta etc. we stopped at montepuchiano and Pienza, no words can explain the beauty and the history of these towns. Lunch was home made pasta and wine on a delightful farm. There’s so much to tell you! I would honestly go again. Taste everything and enjoy it!
